Security & Privacy Policies

As an internet/mail order company the security and privacy of your information and personal details are top priority to TwinsUK. All of our information is collected and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Distance Selling Directive and the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice.

When you register your details with us or place an order, we use a secure server. Any data you give is encrypted using a ‘Secure Socket Layer’ (SSL) session. SSL is an industry standard and is one of the best ways to ensure internet messages are not intercepted. When using a secure connection a small padlock will be displayed in the bottom right hand corner of your browser when you reach the checkout page.

All TwinsUK online purchases take place in a safe environment using the latest security technology to protect all of our customers. We are PCI Compliant which is necessary to ensure the internet and shopping online is secure, maintaining a secure network and protecting cardholder data.

We encrypt your credit card information to ensure your transactions with us are private and protected whilst online. We accept orders only from web browsers that permit communication through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology – this means you cannot inadvertently place an order through an unsecured connection.

Your card details are not held on the internet. Once payment has been validated and authorisation approved, the card details are deleted. This means that you will have to repeat your card details for every online order – a small inconvenience, but one that makes it completely safe to order online.

In addition to our secure website we have also implemented the Visa and Mastercard anti fraud protection schemes. If your credit card issuer participates in the scheme you will be asked to enter your online password to verify your transaction. If you have yet to register for this scheme, don’t worry your card issuer will either ask you to register during the checkout process or in another future transaction.
