National Literacy Trust TTYB - http://www.talktoyourbaby.org.uk/pushchairs.html

Talk To Your Baby (TTYB), the early language campaign at the National Literacy Trust, encourages parents and carers to talk to their children as much as possible from birth to three. Talking and listening to young children helps them develop good language and communication skills, which enables them to express themselves, listen, learn, read, write and socialise better. It also helps children feel valued, builds their confidence and helps parents and children to bond. TTYB recommends that anyone purchasing a buggy/pushchair considers how much time their babies will be spending in it. If it’s more than 20 minutes, then a parent-facing buggy/pushchair allows parents and babies an opportunity for chit chat along the route. Recent research published by TTYB and carried out by Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, in fact, found that parents with pusher-facing buggies were twice as likely to be talking to their babies while out and about. For more information about TTYB’s buggy research, visit the National Literacy Trust website, Talk to Your Baby Campaign.
